Alex DiPego is an exciting new fantasy writer.
Born in Orlando and raised in Chicago, I have been writing since I was 14. It started with me roleplaying online and enjoying MMORPGs and MUDRPG's. My love for history started young, and I remember back in fifth grade memorizing the entire battle of the Alamo by heart.
Seeing history and fantasy combine was awesome. The first LoTR movie showed me that world, and it amazed me. I promptly imagined a world where elves, orcs, and faeries alike existed. Being a gamer, I played a lot of my N64 75% of the time being Ocarina of Time. Learning about Ganon's background started the entirety of my world when I made Abrane.
Abrane was my number one character; I built an entire world around. Including Gods and demons, creatures of mythology, and more. For fifteen years, I started my first story time and time again, never getting past three chapters. Yet always editing, changing, and building deep backgrounds in characters but never being able to bring me to finish.
Having taken a break from writing on multiple occasions, I pursued playing baseball right out of high school and moving to sunny Miami. Going to school for a history major and playing baseball kept writing off my mind for a long time. I still played MMO's in my spare time, and it wasn't until my second year in Miami. I added to my story with the Flying Elephants. Still, I got caught in the editing hole, and with school proving unexciting, I changed my focus to another love, food.
From history to food, I went to school for Baking and Pastry and had such a great time learning bread, laminated dough, and chocolate. This journey took me on a path in my job to move up thinking I could have a career. Moving back to Chicago, I followed this path that did, unfortunately, turned south. It would be years before I thought about writing again.
August 2017, I brought myself to promise I would finish my story, and I did, the first arc at least. It took nine months, but I wrote the first part of The Lords Deal. Filled with excitement, I quickly wrote a novella about a guild of side characters I fell in love with. I plan on bringing not just a main arc to completion over 3-4 books, but also introduce smaller stories about side characters to build out the world and show you the nature of the world.
I hope you enjoy the world of The Lords Deal and fall in love with the characters as much as I have.
